STOCKWELL, Terry Lee
of Kalamazoo
Passed away Sunday morning, January 2, 2022 at his home. Terry was born July 11, 1942 in Plainwell, MI the son of Gaylord and Caroline (Titus) Stockwell. Terry had many occupations. He started at a young age as a newspaper boy for Grand Rapids newspaper, and helped raise pigs and cows on the farm. He also worked at Anderson Meat Locker, Titus Construction, Roelof Dairy, Gibson Guitar, a Gas Station, and a School Bus Driver and Peter Echrich until disability 1988. He then volunteered as an Assistant treasurer, Pathfinders and deacon for the Kalamazoo SDA Church, along with helping at Robbie's day care. His other favorite volunteering was as a security guard and tractor driver for camp meeting in the summer.
Some of his hobbies were fishing, bowling, camping, mini-golf, playing games with his family and friends and making pickles. His favorite past-time was travelling with his wife and spending time with his grand-kids, which included all of the day-care children.
On September 26, 1964 Terry was united in marriage to his loving wife of 57 years, Roberta (Roberts) who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Sheri (Tim) Castanon, Wendi (Jacob) Smith; and Sara (Stofer) McGruder (first day-care child); 4 grandchildren, Michael (Alyssa) Castanon, Elizabeth Smith, Gabriel Castanon, Jacob Smith, Jr.; and a Brother-in Law, Paul Roberts (Myrna). Preceding him in death were his parents, Gaylord & Caroline (Maxine) Stockwell; Sister Darlene Stockwell; and Brothers Gaylord Jr. Stockwell and Milo McKie.
Friends may meet the family from 4:00-7:00pm Wednesday, January 5 at the Kalamazoo Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1601 Nichols Rd. A service will be held starting at 5:30pm. The family asks that masks be worn if attending. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January 6 at Hillside Cemetery, M89 in Plainwell.
