Tereatha Longmire

Tereatha (Alexander) Longmire, age 61 of Kalamazoo, passed away surrounded by family on November 9, 2023. She was born on December 7, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Earl Lester and Carrie (Matthews) Longmire.

Tereatha, known to many for her beautiful smile, enjoyed her position in business administration at Borgess Hospital for many years. More than anything, she loved time with her family. She was often in the kitchen cooking delicious meals and always trying new recipes. Tereatha loved music and had a collection of her old school songs she loved listening to. She was a kind and humble woman who left beautiful memories for her family to cherish.

Her family includes her children: LaShun (Brandei Miller) Alexander, Sheneice Alexander, Chantell Alexander, and Tiffany Alexander; her grandchildren: Jamere Alexander, Javonta Alexander, Jamal Alexander, Alexis House, Breonna Mosely, and Keshon Mosely; her brother, Keith (Ernestine) Longmire; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie Cobbins; her brothers: George Longmire, Lester Longmire, and Billy Longmire; and her grandson, Treshun Alexander. 

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
