Tatyana Hristova Rangelova

Tatyana Hristova Rangelova of Portage, Michigan, passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 92. Tatyana was born in Lomets, Bulgaria, on August 16, 1932, to her late father, Hristo Taslakov, and her late mother, Ivanka Taslakova. In 1954, Tatyana married George Rangelov. The two were married for 47 years before George’s passing away in 2003. Tatyana devoted her life to her family and raising her daughter, Valentina.

In her early life, Tatyana grew up in the village Lomets and in the town of Troyan of the beautiful mountain Stara Planina, both in Bulgaria. In 1960, Tatyana and her family moved to Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Many years later, in 2015, she became a permanent resident of the United States, moving in with her daughter, Valentina, and grandchildren, George and Sophia.

Tatyana loved singing, and in her youth, performed as a singer and soloist in a choir. She also found joy in Bulgarian embroidery, knitting, crocheting, reading books, and memorizing poems. In 2007, Tatyana became wheelchair bound. She lived her life in pain, yet she never complained. Instead, she remained positive and uplifting, always ready to help others with encouragement, good advice, and kind words. She was a beautiful angel with a soft-spoken voice that could make anyone feel welcome and loved. Tatyana loved her Lord Jesus Christ, accepting Him as her Savior later in her life. She was loved by many and will be missed tremendously.

Tatyana is survived by her daughter, Valentina; grandson, George, and his wife, Kristina; her granddaughter, Sophia; brother, Ivailo; nephew, Hristo, and his family; and niece, Katya, and her family.

Tatyana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Rangelov; her parents, Hristo and Ivanka; her brother, Vasil; and her great niece, Tsvetelina.

Services will be held at Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S 12th St, Portage, MI 49024, on Saturday, November 16th, with visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am, and lunch after the service.
