Kalamazoo, MI Tanika Roxanne Heard's life was cut tragically short on April 29, 2009. Born April 28, 1993 to Kellie Marie Burbank and Walter Heard, Jr. Tanika was a precious daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed music, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. Tanika always had dreams of moving to California and becoming a movie star. She had a smile that was brighter than the sun. She was very energetic and people wanted to be with her. Tanika will always be remembered for her strong-willed, leadership personality. Tanika's family finds comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven with her Great-Grandmother Mary Wyman, whom she loved and missed dearly. Tanika is survived by her mother, Kellie and father, Walter, Jr. She is also survived by her sister and two brothers; Walter III, Ashley Roe Burbank, and Shaun, Grandmother and Grandfather Wendy Wilkerson and Jerry Lambert, Grandfather Donald Burbank, and Grandmother Shirley Hubbard, Great-Grandmother Geraldine Burbank and her aunts; Kerrie Burbank-Antelo, Jodie Burbank-Jones, Rhea Harvey, Mindy Burbank, Megan Burbank, Roxanne Howard and many cousins, Andre, Renato, Peighton, Taitehm, Eli, Blake, Paige, Ricky, Ebony, and Dee Dee. Tanika's family is welcoming visitors Wednesday, May 6th from 2pm-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, located at 622 South Burdick St. in Kalamazoo, MI. Services for Tanika Roxanne Heard will take place on Thursday, 1:00pm at Kalamazoo First United Baptist Church, 821 S. Burdick St., Pastor Lenzy E. Bell, officiating. Family will greet friends from 12 - 1:00pm, just prior to service. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo.
