Gull Lake, MI Passed away July 26, 2007 in her home surrounded by family and friends. Born on July 27, 1944 to Harold and Marion Shank. Sue was a varsity cheerleader at Loy Norrix High School graduating in 1962 after which she attended Olivet College. Many years during and after high school she was a sales person for Mahoney?s and Jacobson?s. Suzanne was a member of the Richland Red Hat?s Society and most recently volunteered with the YWCA Mentoring Program. Suzies?s vibrant and outgoing personality brought many people into her life, everywhere she went she made new friends. Suzie was an excellent cook, always baking cookies for all occasions. Suzanne had many interests including Borgess Service League and performing in many of ?The Fabulous Follies?. She also enjoyed golf, racquet sports, playing cards, sailing and boating. Gull Lake has been part of Sue?s life since she was three years old going to the family cottage. She really loved Gull Lake and caring for her home and gardens for the last forty years. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Uncle Louie: Aunts; Helen, Dorothy, and Ruth: and two cousins; Jim Brignall and Barbara Brignall. Suzie is survived by her brother; Tim Judy Shank, and sister; Sally Bob Case: uncle; Arthur Ruth Verburg of Grand Rapids: loving companion; Scott Mitchell: Devoted friends; Judy Ted Nowak, and Sally Parfet Williams. Also surviving is her niece; Kimberly Shank Tolzien: nephews; Sean and Jeff Case: two grand nieces: two grand nephews: and many extended family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her dog, Skosh, who was always at her side. Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2007 from 6-8 pm at Langeland Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Services Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 1 o?clock at Langeland Memorial Chapel. Please join the family for a time of sharing at the Gull Lake View Golf Course following the services. Memorial contributions may be directed to Borgess Visiting Nurses & Hospice or YWCA Mentoring Program. www.langelands.com .
