Formerly of Portage, MI Susan K. Stephens died suddenly of natural causes on Saturday, June 30, 2007, at her home in Daytona Beach, FL. She was born November 11, 1953, in La Porte, IN, a daughter of Charles and Phyllis Stephens and moved to Portage, MI at the age of 10. Susan attended Portage Public Schools and graduated from Portage Central High School. Susan lived in Portage for many years and then moved to South Haven. Prior to moving to Florida, Susan was employed by Dobbs Optical for 24 years. She loved to travel and visited many countries and tropical islands with her family and friends. She loved her family so much and especially enjoyed the time spent on family vacations. Susan was a fun person with a giving heart and lots to offer, who made the best of every day. She was a magnificent gift from God and her family and friends will miss her very much. All that knew her will cherish the time spent with her and will be thankful to be her friend. Susan is survived by: her parents, Charles and Phyllis Stephens of Vicksburg; 2 brothers and their wives, Gale & Anne Stephens and Craig & Sabine Stephens; a niece, Lisa Stephens and a nephew, Michael Stephens, all of the Portage area. Susan?s body was cremated in Florida. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 4-7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E.
