Stuart Richard ''Dick'' Shaw

SHAW, Stuart Richard Dick Kalamazoo Mr. Shaw passed away suddenly, Tuesday evening, January 9, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born July 1, 1944 in Kalamazoo, the son of Stuart Robert and Bette Minor Shaw. Dick graduated from Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo in 1962. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Shaw worked for IBM for over 30 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a ?Tuesday Toolmen? volunteer for Senior Services. Dick enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting and was proud of his pond, fish and turtles; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. On April 2, 1992, he was married to Angeline Peterman Hill in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are his two children, Lorie Keith Peterson of Portage, and Stuart Robert Cheryl Shaw of Schoolcraft; grand and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Josh, Rachel, Raeann, Saydee, and Laci; his father, Stuart Robert Fran Shaw of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Joanne Barber of Portage, and Candyce Clifford Brown of Vicksburg; his former wife and friend, Mary McLain Mentor; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his mother, Bette Shaw; and two grandchildren, Emilee and Robert. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Friday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street.
