Suhr, Stephen E.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012. Age 80 years. Stephen was born in South Haven, MI on February 2, 1932, the son of the late Benjamin and Neva Sutton Suhr. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean War. He received his Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University. Stephen taught History at Loy Norrix High School. He managed Central Sewing Center in Kalamazoo and then worked as a realtor for RE/MAX Advantage for 29 years. He was a member of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors. Stephen loved University of Michigan Football. He was a great people person, who loved everyone he met and they loved him. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frances Sischo Suhr; five sons, Kevin Julie Suhr of Mattawan, Kyle Lisa Suhr of Bonita Springs, FL, Kristopher Gloria Suhr of Orange Beach, AL, Robert Harding of Grand Rapids and Danny Sheri Harding of Portage; nine grandchildren, Mylisa, Andrea, Brandon, Nathan, Thomas, Joshua and Nicholas Suhr, Rex and Chelsea Harding; 6 great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail and Arlen Van Den Bos. Stephen was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Areaux. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012. Scott Burdick will officiate. Private Interment will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
