Stella Alice Henton

Henton, Stella Alice Of Kalamazoo, MI Went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 21, 2013. Age 71. Stella was born in Kalamazoo on December 9, 1941, the daughter of the late Raymond and Frances Pavelec Cowgill. She worked as an LPN for Bronson Hospital, Bronson Place, Heritage Community of Kalamazoo and other nursing homes in the Kalamazoo area. She was a member of the Nazareth Assembly of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, gardening, arts and crafts and volunteering at the Kalamzoo Gospel Mission. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frank Arthur Henton. They were charter members of Sandy Pines, where they enjoyed spending weekends, vacations and summer holidays with their children and grandchildren for over 40 years. Stella and Frank also recently spent several weeks during the winter in Florida. She is also survived by two daughters and one son, Jessica Kenneth Williams of Kalamazoo, Charles E. Henton of Parchment and Ginger Mark Norris of Parchment; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; her sister and brother, Frances Gary Ford of Kalamazoo and Lewis Tina Alexander of Otsego; her sister-in-law, Cathy Henton of Bellaire; many nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Velma John Cloud. Stella was preceded in death by her grandson, Charles E. Henton III; and one brother. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Nazareth Assembly of God, 4039 Nazareth Rd., where a memorial service will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Pastor Kathy Wayman will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
