PIERCE, Mr. Stanley I.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning June 9, 2007 at his residence. Stanley was born August 31, 1931 in Climax, Michigan a son of Ivan and June Avery Pierce. During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident over 50 years. He was employed with A&P Grocery for many years and later worked at the Paw Paw Shopping Center Grocery before retiring. He was also a longtime member of the Climax American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Betty Horton and Barbara Mason; and an infant daughter, Stacey Pierce. On July 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Donna M. Baughman Pierce who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Debbie Patterson of Kalamazoo and Steven Teresa Pierce of Mattawan; 4 granddaughters, Amanda and Emily Patterson, Rebecca Pierce and Khristina Mooney; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Miller; a brother, Don Ellen Pierce of Battle Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. There will be no visitation. Private inurnment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Fort Custer National Cemetery Honor Guard Fund. Arrangements were made with the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
