Stanley W. Osterlund

OSTERLUND, Mr. Stanley W. Kalamazoo, MI Died Tuesday evening February 27, 2007. Stanley was born September 28, 1917 in Jennings, Michigan a son of August and Signe Appelgren Osterlund. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 28 years and was employed with Penn Central Railroad for over 30 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Ruby Nygren and Alice Emmel; and 2 brothers, Hartley and Carl Osterlund. On June 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Howlett Osterlund who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Sheryl Steve Drenth of Dowling, MI and Steven Char Mondrosch-Folley Osterlund of Springfield, VT; 2 grandchildren, Jesse Veronica Pero and Joel Megan Pero; 2 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Preston Pero; a brother, Bob Marie Osterlund; 2 sisters, Vernice Aaron Buckley and Beth Bob Doll; a brother-in-law, Del Emmel; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10:30AM Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Heritage Community Foundation.
