Stanley Leitz

LEITZ, Stanley Portage Stanley Howard Leitz, surrounded by his family and friends, went to be with his Lord on December 14, 2006 after a short illness. Stanley was born May 19, 1934 in South Haven, MI. He worked at Central Sewing Center & Plastic Engineering in Kalamazoo and was a reservist in the Kalamazoo County Sheriff?s Department. Stanley worked for the Lake County Sheriff Department and retired from the Mason County Sheriff Department in 1996 after 15 years of service. He was affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Police, Christian Life Center, and Prayer and Praise Assembly of God in Ludington. A Boy Scout leader, Stanley was always willing to help and mentor young people. He was a wonderful chef who loved cooking for his family and friends. Also, he was a craftsman who built his own home in Branch, MI. Stan loved life, but he knew he had a home in heaven. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Doonan, a daughter, Vicki Brown Mike of Arizona, a son, Stanley Leitz Pam of Portage; grandchildren, Henry Kite Heather of Vicksburg, Jeremy Kite Shawna of Arizona, and Paul, Amy and Andrew Leitz all of Portage. His surviving great grandchildren are Tessa Kite, Sawyer Kite, Trace Kite and Shylynn Kite. He is survived by his brother, Norman Leitz Arlene of Portage. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and many friends in the Kalamazoo and Ludington areas. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his mother, Bernice Harrington and brothers, Alan, Donald and Greg Leitz and a great grandson, Jamie Kite. A memorial service celebrating the life of Stanley Leitz will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 officiated by Pastor Robert C. Wrasse at 1:00 PM at the Christian Life Center, 1225 W. Patterson, Kalamazoo. A Ludington, MI memorial service is planned for late March or early April, 2007. Memorial gifts may be directed to Prayer and Praise Assembly of God Church, 509 N.
