Stanley Merle LaRoy

Stanley Merle LaRoy, 73, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 10, 1951, the beloved son of Edwin and Norma (Ekema) LaRoy.

Stanley was a kind and gentle soul who cherished the simple pleasures of life. As a young man, he loved fishing with his father on the lake where he grew up. Later in life, he found great joy in helping his mother care for their home and yard, always appreciating those who lent him a hand.

Stanley’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Park Village Pines for the compassionate care they provided him.

He is survived by his mother, Norma, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Stanley was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with the family receiving guests beginning at 10:00 am. Stanley will be laid to rest at Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery in Otsego, MI. For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Stanley’s honor, the family requests that donations are made to a charity of your choice.
