FRANC, Stanley F.
of Kalamazoo Passed away September 18, 2011, in Kalamazoo. He was born in 1930 in Chicago, IL. He was united in marriage to Sophia "Margie" Robinson in 1950 for a loving 61 years together. Margie preceded him in death on September 7, 2011. He loved softball and played in several leagues into his 60's. Among his other interests were golf, bowling and bridge. Stanley retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Surviving Stanley are his children, Linda Swierbut of Grand Rapids, Cynthia Jeff Comer of Vicksburg, Colleen Ziegler of Kalamazoo, Daniel Franc of Otsego and Lisa David Combs of Lexington, KY; 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Louise Franc and Connie Franc; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Stanley in death was an infant daughter, Collette; his parents; and 9 brothers and sisters of which he was the youngest of the 10. Family will greet friends Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave. A funeral service will take place Thursday, 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Portage, 1133 East Centre Ave. Interment will take place at Cedar Park Cemetery in Riverdale Calumet Park, IL.
