Stanley John Brussee

BRUSSEE, Stanley J. Kalamazoo and Venice, FL Passed away April 25, 2007 in Venice, FL. Stanley was born August 1, 1927 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Grover and Effie Luyendyk Brussee.
After graduating from Kalamazoo Christian High School, Stanley served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the printing equipment business and was a partner in Kalamazoo Printing Machinery. After retiring, he divided his time between Kalamazoo, Beaver Island, MI, and Venice, FL. He was a long-time member of Heritage Christian Reformed Church and more recently, Venice Presbyterian Church. Stanley was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Bode, and Esther and Chester Boender. On May 6, 1949, he was married to the former Genevieve Howing, who survives. Also surviving are 1 daughter and 3 sons and their spouses, Barbara Ronald Wells of Maryville, TN, Robert Lynda Brussee of Scotts, David Patty Brussee and Kenneth Cheryl Brussee, all of Kalamazoo; 15 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister, Grover Eileen Brussee, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Jim Sharon Brussee and Jan Robert DeBoer, all of Florida; a brother-in-law Rev. Harold Helen Bode of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. Private family graveside services will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 o?clock Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. with the Rev. Simon Tuin officiating. Friends may meet the family on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
