CAMPBELL, Mr. Spencer Kalamazoo Went to be with his Lord, Sunday, May 13, 2007. Spencer was born in Inverness, FL on May 12, 1919, the son of Henry & Binnie Jump Campbell. He was a member of Heritage Christian Reformed Church and had been employed by the Upjohn Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1979. Spencer was a veteran of the Untied States Army during WWII, serving in Okinawa and Saipan. On Nov. 26, 1944, he was united in marriage to Althea Van Donselaar, who survives. Also surviving are five children and spouses, Robert & Lynda Campbell of Kalamazoo, David & Laurie Campbell of Newark, DE, Carolyn & Edward Douma of Hillsdale, Ml, James & Cathleen Campbell, Karen & Ken VanderLugt, and a daughter-in-law, Mary Campbell, all of Kalamazoo; ten grandchildren, Kerri Mike Leetmaa, Craig Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Greg & Rachelle Douma, Kyle, Bryan & Shane Campbell, and Scott & Alex VanderLugt; one great-grandchild, Kaylin Douma; one sister, Merita Perrin of Tampa, FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a special nephew, Randy Sandie Campbell of Alpine, TN and niece, Kathleen Campbell of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth John Campbell in 1972; and eleven brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 2857 S. 11th Street, with Rev. Simon Tuin officiating, followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship room. Committal services will be held at 2:30 PM at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
