Come Back Farm Mrs. Watts passed away Wednesday evening, October 10, 2007 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. She was born January 10, 1931 in Kalamazoo, one of three children to Philip and Edna Ennis Simmons. Shirley was a member of the Pythian Sisters ? Scotts Temple #88 for many years. On April 2, 1949, she was united in marriage to John M. Watts in Climax, who preceded her in death on January 5, 1987. Also preceding her in death is her brother, John Simmons. Surviving are two children, Dawn David Nikka of Battle Creek, and Cindy; four grandchildren, Jill, Christopher, Olivia, and Doug; three great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Sabastian, and Tyreed; one sister, Norma Pion of Arizona, one sister-in-law, Phyllis Simmons of Scotts; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Watts will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street. Interment will follow in Prairie Home Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-6 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Calhoun Co. Humane Society or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
