Shirley Ann Sherfield, an unforgettable woman who left an indelible mark on those around her, passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 78 in Portage, Michigan. Born on December 18, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of Michael C. and Marie E. (Brown) Ostheimer.

 She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1964 and ventured into the realm of commercial real estate. Over the years, she honed her craft, becoming a respected figure in the industry. From her early days with Jerry Carlson Realty to her tenure with Larry Norris at Michigan Real Estate Services, and ultimately to the establishment of her own successful business.

On May 20, 1988, Shirley exchanged vows with the love of her life, Paul Sherfield, and together they embarked on a journey of love, companionship, and mutual respect.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Paul Sherfield, her adoring son, Gary Strefling and stepdaughters, Michelle (Mark) Mellado, Melissa (Jeremy Perry) Sherfield, Megan (Zach Thostesen) Sherfield, and Monica (Josh) Hulbert. Shirley's legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Eli Lambert, Keith Lambert, Tyler Perry, Josephine Mellado, Makayala Perry, Dylan Lambert, Issabelle Mellado, Guilianna Mellado, and Caleb Hulbert. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A private service will be held to honor Shirley's life, with burial at Portage South Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.langelands.com.
