Kalamazoo, MI Died Monday morning August 23, 2010 at her residence. Shirley was born August 11, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of Walter and Evelyn Smith. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Village Graphic's in Richland for 7 years before retiring. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Smith; and a brother, Walter Smith. In June of 1957, she was united in marriage to Elmer K. Johnson who survives. Also surviving, a son, Mark Lisa Johnson of Sioux City, IA; a daughter, Cynthia Bradley Schuchardt of Stanardsville, VA; 6 grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Ruth Commissaris, Vida Bill Groth, and Beverly Art Parker all of Kalamazoo; a brother-in-law, William Nancy Johnson of Scotts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
