Hill, Shirley Ann
of Portage, Michigan Passed away at her home on Saturday, July 8, 2012. Age 76 years. Shirley was born in Kalamazoo on December 6, 1935, the daughter of the late James and Beatrice Heftey Smith. She worked for Bronson Hospital, retiring after 36 years of service. Shirley enjoyed bowling, listening to Willie Nelson, arts and crafts and working in her flower garden. She is survived by her son, Anndru Hill of Kalamazoo; her granddaughter, Sabrina Busch of Kalamazoo; one brother, Donald W. Deem of Gobles; two step-sisters, Daisy Bernie Deaton of Cooper and Kate French of Oshtemo; one step-brother, John Annette Smith of Decatur; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her life partner, William Parker; and three sisters, Garnett Nagy, Pauline Maystead and Beverly George. Memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Rev. John Holmes will officiate with interment of cremated remains in Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park, South. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
