SANBORN, Sheila Kathleen
Of Portage, Michigan Passed away Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2008. Sheila was born November 4, 1927 in Hendon, England the daughter of Reginald and Doris Midson. She grew up in Hendon during World War II. Sheila enjoyed gardening and won an award for her outstanding landscaping talent. She was a member of the Schoolcraft Ladies Library Association where she served as President three times. Sheila was also an active member of the Schoolcraft Historical Society. On January 10, 1959 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Donald Sanborn, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Sue Sanborn and her husband, Jerry Fuhriman of Logan, Utah, Elizabeth Hoskins and her husband, Jeff of Denver, Colorado. Sheila was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Irene and Jeanne. A memorial service to celebrate Sheila's life will be held 2:30PM Thursday at the Schoolcraft Ladies Library, 333 Hayward Ave, in Schoolcraft. Private interment will be at a later date.
