Sharon S. Schipper

January 30, 1943 — February 12, 2009

SCHIPPER, Sharon Stolk
Of Kalamazoo Sharon went joyfully to be with Jesus, on Thursday morning, February 12, 2009, not because of her goodness, but His. She was born January 30, 1943 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Peter and Arlene Wright Stolk. A 1960 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, she later graduated from Western Michigan University in 1964 and 1968. Sharon was employed as a teacher for 7½ years at Kalamazoo Public Schools and 13 years at Paw Paw High School before her retirement. When living in Parchment, she was an active member of Haven Reformed Church, teaching Sunday school and youth groups. Moving back to Kalamazoo's west side, she returned to Hope Reformed Church, where she had been raised. Sharon was grateful for the heritage of church parents, pastors, and Sunday school teachers. She was married to Roger L. Schipper of Kodak, TN from 1963 to 1989, who survives. Also surviving are their 2 children, Rob Schipper of Galesburg, Sarah Kyle Partain of Pensacola, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Kyliana, Aaron, Kendra, and Kasandra; 1 brother, Ronald Margie Stolk of Kalamazoo; 1 sister, Cindy Doug Wesler of Kalamazoo; step-mother, Dorothy Stolk of Bradenton, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Sharon will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Hope Reformed Church, 910 Jenks Blvd., with Rev. Kent Frens officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Hope Reformed Church.
