Sharon Harris, age 72, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2023.
Sharon was born on July 6, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Robert Tyler and Janet Flythe.
She married Billy Harris, and they were together for over 30 years until they divorced. Although divorced, they remained friends. They were better friends after the divorce than when they were married.
Sharon enjoyed working on automobiles, not just diagnosing the problems but fixing them. Sharon loved salmon fishing. When the salmon were running, you knew where to find her on the river. She also loved doing puzzles, spending time with friends and family, and being the life of the party.
Sharon attended Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, MI, for auto mechanics. She was a certified mechanic. She worked many jobs over the years, but she was best at being a supervisor; she liked to be in charge.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, April (Chris) Turner and Alicia Schaaf (Corey); grandchildren, Derrick, Dylan (Markie), Will (Erin), Zoe, Kiara (Shelsae), Cameron, Christina (Felipe), and Johnny; and many great-grandchildren. Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Michael (Charlotte) Tyler, Linda Tyler, and Penny (Robert) Boothe. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Flythe.
Services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 32464 East Red Arrow Hwy, Paw Paw, MI 49079, with Pastor Horace Turner officiating. There will be a lunch after the service for friends to gather and share memories.
