TAYLOR, Scott William
of Portage, Michigan Scott, age 59, passed away at his home on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born March 25, 1953 in Kalamazoo, a son of Robert Leroy and Maxine Barney Taylor and was a lifelong resident of Portage, living in the same house he was raised in. He owned and operated Scott W. Taylor Excavating for 32 years. He was a wonderful, loving and inspirational husband, father, Papa, brother and friend, always ready to help anybody in need. He was a simple man, happy with his wife and family. Scott was a lucky hunter! He loved drag racing at the US 131 Motorsports Park and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was loved by everyone who crossed his path. He is survived by his love dumpling wife, Debby; their children, Heidi Joe Powell Abiel, Regan and Ella of Scotts, Amybeth Fisher Alyssa, Olivia and Evanof Kalamazoo, Christie Carl Kidder Alexia, Nevaeh and Izzy of Altus, OK and Scotty Michelle Taylor Drew of Portage; his mother, Maxine Taylor of Kalamazoo; his sisters, Lee Ann Cleon Grinage of Plainwell and Jean Cook of Scotts; his brother, "Big" Jack Taylor of Scotts; his Big Cous Tom Carlson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:00 PM. In memory of Scott's love for Portage Central, a non-profit, pay to play scholarship fund has been set up at Consumers Credit Union, 269-345-7804.
