STRATTON, Scott A.
Of Mattawan, MI Passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2009. Scott was born September 22, 1954 in Kalamazoo, MI and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was employed for 30 years as a process engineer for the Flow Serve Corporation Durametallic. Scott enjoyed golfing but most important was the time he spent with his family and especially the grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Timothy Stratton in December of 2008 and by his father Len VandenBerg in 2002. Surviving are his mother Patricia VandenBerg of Kalamazoo; 2 daughters, Chesney Chris Hack and Missy Sean Baker, all of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Isabella, Hunter, Angelina, Jaiden and Ashton; 3 sisters, Lorie Loren Eaton of Kalamazoo, Julie David Blanchard of Pullman and Mary Mike Doorlag of Mattawan, Step-Brother, Leonard VandenBerg, Step-Sister, Deb Terry Steinfeld; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Friends may meet the family beginning at 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Scott's memory be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. Please visit
