SWANDER, Mrs. Sarah J.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday afternoon June 26, 2013. Sarah was born April 21, 1934 in Watervliet, Michigan a daughter of Elmer and Blanche Betz Padgett. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jacob A, Swander, Sr. on June 7, 2004; her daughter, JoAnn Swander on April 13, 2013; and an infant sister, Kathy Ann Swander. She is survived by a son, Jacob A, Swander, Jr. of Kalamazoo; 3 sisters, Betty Wyman Frances Westrate, and Elsie DeWight Hendricksen all of Kalamazoo; a brother, Charles Joy Padgett of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice.
