Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her home. Sarah was born January 20, 1939 in Kalamazoo, a daughter of Edward W. and Sarah Beach Rantz and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She was employed by Western Michigan University in the custodial department for 13 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as family was very important to her. Sarah is survived by her children, Lou Ann Green of Kalamazoo, Laurie Ann Sims of Kalamazoo, Leslie, Jr. Moira Sims of North Glen, CO and Larry Sims of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Gwen Fr. Donald Wilson of MO and Linda Rantz of Kalamazoo; two brothers, David Virginia Rantz and Wayne Rantz all of Kalamazoo; many step-brothers and step-sisters; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. on Thursday beginning at 11:00AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Russ Green, officiating. Memorials may be given to the family for final expenses or the charity of one's choice.
