KALEWARD, Sarah E.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Sarah passed away Friday morning, August 29, 2008 at her home. She was born January 23, 1930 in Moulton, AL, the daughter of Walter and Synthia Hare Shelton. She was an active member of the Church of God Family Worship Center in Kalamazoo. On December 31, 1967, Sarah was united in marriage to Peter Kaleward, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 5, 2003. Also preceding her in death are her parents; former husband, Edward Hardin; and 3 brothers, Lonny, Leon, and Wayne Shelton. Surviving are 6 children, Diane Tony Underwood of Kalamazoo, Ron Crystal Hardin of Galesburg, Al Kellie DeFord Hardin of Paw Paw, Synthia Scott Owens Rose of Kalamazoo, Tammy George Moore Creech of Plainwell, and Regina Stanfill of Kalamazoo; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 step-children, Duane Shirley Kaleward of Charlotte, and Morrie Rebecca Kaleward of Plainwell; numerous step-grand and step-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Margie "Polly" Hendrix of Gainesville, GA, and David Jane Shelton of Gun Barrel City, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Sarah will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Church of God Family Worship Center, 5841 E. H Avenue with Rev. Edward L. Davis officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street.
