Of Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in Cleveland , OH after a long, hard fought battle with cystic fibrosis. Sarah was born February 3, 1984 in Kalamazoo the cherished and beloved daughter of Gerald and Laura Brandt Friedman. She was a graduate of Portage Northern High School, attended Grand Valley State, and earned her nursing degree at Kalamazoo Valley CC. Sarah was employed by Bronson Hospital and worked as an RN at Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw. She enjoyed time spent with her family, many close friends and her dog Dewey. She was an excellent cook and compassionate nurse. She loved to dance and sing. Her bright light will be missed by all it shined on. She was a gift sent from heaven to us and all that knew her loved her. On October 7, 2011 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Jeremy Woods, who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Gerald Laura Friedman; grandparents, Joyce Brandt and Rowena Friedman; Brother and sister, Samuel Friedman, and Teresa Bradley; nieces, Jessica, Rebecca, and Caitlyn Beal; great-nieces and nephew, Vanessa Wilson, Cameron Shannon-Beal, Mackenzie Beal; uncles, Gary Jonita Brandt, Fredrick William Ruthie Brandt, Larry Shari Friedman, Aaron and Ron Michael Friedman; great-great uncle, James Brandt; and her beloved dog, "Dewey". She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack Brandt and Andrew Friedman. A service to celebrate Sarah's life will be held Tuesday, May 22, at 2:00pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a time of fellowship. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Friends may meet the family Monday, May 21 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Westside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
