Kalamazoo, MI Died Friday afternoon October 22, 2010. Sara was born November 11, 1922 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Joseph and Ezoa Gilman Loughead. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Collegiate Sorosis Sorority at University of Michigan; Dunning Guild at the First Presbyterian Church; Service Club of Kalamazoo; and the Women's Council of Kalamazoo College. Sara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert G. Davis on April 15, 1996; and a sister, Patricia Eldredge. She is survived by 5 children, Elizabeth Davis of Grand Rapids, Sara Davis of Whitmore Lake, MI, Richard Susan Davis of Schoolcraft, Mary Charles Collins of Clyde, OH, and Martha Stephen Logan of Farmington Hills; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer and Katherine Davis, Andrew Collins, and Luba and Alexander Birkenmeyer; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, 321 W. South St. There will be no visitation. Private inurnment will take place in the church columbarium. Memorials may be directed to the Women's Council Scholarship Fund at Kalamazoo College, First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
