Sandra Kay (Tyler) Ormanovich

Passed away at home Tuesday, February 1, 2022, with her husband by her side. Sandra was born on May 29, 1949, to the late, Erma Tyler, in Washington, Indiana. After graduating high school, she worked at Meijer as a cashier for 35 years. On August 16, 2013, Sandra was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jason Smeed, who she enjoyed the rest of her life with. She was engaged in the community and dedicated much of her time working with the Warm Kids Project, making sure the Children around Kalamazoo stay warm in the cold weather months with coats, hats, and gloves. In Sandra's free time, she would go to every Kalamazoo K-Wing's game possible as she loved watching them play. She loved traveling. Every year her and her friends would go to Clearwater beach for a girl's vacation for 30 + years. Her overall favorite trip was Route 66. No matter what wherever she went she would know someone. She spoke at the Madd victim impact panel for the past 20 years before her being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

Surviving Sandra is her husband, Jason Smeed; Daughter, Tracy (Thomas) Upp; many, many cousins; and grand-dog, Chester. Preceding her in passing is her mother, Erma Tyler.

Visitation will be held in Sandra's honor on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 10am to 1:30pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009. A graveside service will be held following visitation at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South, 3941 South Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49008 at 2pm. The Family asks that any guests attending the visitation to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorial contributions to The Warm Kids Project or Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
