Kalamazoo, MI Died Friday afternoon April 24, 2009 in Grand Rapids, Ruth was born September 5, 1930 in Comstock, Michigan a daughter of Edward and Hattie Scholten VandeStreek. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Ferguson Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1993. Ruth was also a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; and 4 brothers, Edward, Henry, Harold, Albert, and Bernard VandeStreek; and 3 sisters, Alberta Koetje, Alice Cleland, and Joanne Smith. She is survived by her guardian and niece, Patricia Wayne Feenstra of Grand Rapids; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Second Christian Reformed Church or the Christian Rest Home in Grand Rapids. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
