SIMINGTON, Ruth Of Portage Passed away Saturday afternoon, March 31, 2007 at her residence. Ruth was born November 6, 1937 in Bloomingdale, MI the daughter of John and Maxine Winters Rouse. In her early years she was involved with the Musical Messengers with her husband Bob. She was also a member of the Berean Baptist Church where she was active for several years with the Berean Singers. Ruth loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a very giving person and liked to help others in need. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ella May Fiskars; and brother, Paul Rouse. On June 12, 1959 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Bob Simington, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Wendy Paul Davis, Jodi Michael Clements; 3 grandchildren, Jenna Clements, Dylan and Kaley Davis; step-mother, Wilma Rouse; brothers and sisters, Don Jan Rouse, Mickey Ron Hawkins, Joyce Martin Stevens, Steve Rouse, Tim Dawn Rouse, Beth Terry Rogers; brother-in-law, Erik Irene Fiskars; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service to celebrate Ruth?s life will be held 11:00 o?clock Friday at the Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th Street, with Pastors Michael Eleveld and Will Davis officiating. A time of refreshment will immediately follow the service. Interment will follow in Mallory Cemetery at 2:30. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Memorials may be directed to the Berean Baptist Church Music Ministry or the Covenant Senior Day Program at St. Michael Lutheran Church.
