SIDNEY, Ruth C. Bauer
Kalamazoo Passed away Friday March 13, 2015. Ruth was born July 23, 1931 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada the daughter of Roy and Louise Raines Bauer. She was a Registered Nurse and spent many years working at Borgess Hospital and the Kalamazoo VNA. She loved spending time outdoors, especially working in her gardens. She also enjoyed spending time volunteering at the Senior Center driving the bus and spending time at the Nature Center. On August 7, 1954 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, George P. Sidney, who preceded her in death on September 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Gerald, Margurite, Glenadine, and Joan. She is survived by her children, Ann Sidney, John Marie Sidney, G. Paul Sidney; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Joshua Sidney; grand puppies, "Ruthie" and "Bodhi"; brother, Don Janet Bauer; sister, Dorothy Hannah; sister-in-law, Muriel Bauer; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held from 2-5pm Sunday March 22 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date along with the announcement of a memorial service. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, or the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
