Portage A very special angel received her wings Sunday, December 26, 2010. Ruth was born August 29, 1929 in Kalamazoo, to Edward and Hazel Olsen Williams. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wonderful friend to those who knew her and will be dearly missed by all. Her family, home, friends and children she cared for over the years were the love of her life and her reason for getting up every day, as difficult as it sometimes was. She also loved playing the slots at the casinos. She took pride in her home and personal appearance and would not allow anything to get in the way of her weekly hair appointment and time with the "beauty shop gals". Ruth is pre-deceased by her parents, 8 brothers and sisters, and daughter-in-law, Karen S. Ramer. Those who will forever cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Don, whom she married June 24, 1949; children, Ron Dru Ramer, Marcia Ramer and Jim Wanda Ramer; grandchildren, Jenny Vince Doepker, Jason Natalie Ramer, Sara Scott Palmer along with 3 very special tag-a-longs named Carly Domurat, Rex Harding and Chelsea Harding; great grandchildren, Max Doepker, Allison & Brooke Ramer and Taylor Palmer. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a time of visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Rose Arbor Hospice for the gentle and loving care provided.
