MANNING, Mrs. Ruth E.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday morning March 12, 2014. Ruth was born July 14, 1913 in Otsego, Michigan a daughter of John and Eva Veber Ockerman. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Mastercraft Company for many years before retiring. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harland E. Manning on February 1, 1973; a son and daughter-in-law, John Sondra Manning; 3 brothers, Dennis, John, and George; a sister, Myrtha; and a special friend, Dorothy Sargent. She is survived by 3 children, Evelyn McCarthy of Jackson, MI, Glenn Jesse Manning of Paw Paw, and Sandra Roy Pomeroy of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Joan Ockerman of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Private burial has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
