Portage, MI Died Friday morning November 13, 2009. Ruth was born May 28, 1922 in South Fork, Pennsylvania a daughter of Toefil and Stella Kolowcski Butkiewicz. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1950, coming from Grand Rapids. Ruth enjoyed golfing, bowling, and painting china. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. On August 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Jack L. Van Dyke who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Jack Glenda Van Dyke of Lansing, MI, Mark Patricia Van Dyke of Mattawan, and Terry Margie Van Dyke of Salisbury, MD; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lottie Kerkstra of Wyoming, MI; a brother, Walter Dorothy Butkiewicz of Wyoming, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private interment will be in South Portage Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Program. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
