Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning March 1, 2008. Ruth was born September 16, 1924 in Wayland, Michigan a daughter of Ansel and Josephine Arnstad Wynn. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Western Michigan University for 15 years before retiring. She was also a member of Simpson United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert "Robbie" Chapman; her former husband, David A. Chapman; 2 brothers; and 5 sisters. She is survived by 3 children, Dennis Kay Chapman of Kalamazoo, Janis Jim Smith of Nunica, MI, and Cynthia Johanna Molenaar Chapman both of Kendall, MI; a grandson, Charles "Chuck" Shannon Ranney of Coopersville, MI; a sister, Valma Critchfield of Paw Paw; special companion, Bruce Lohrberg of Gobles; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Alamo Nursing Home or the Alzheimer's Association.
