Kalamazoo, MI Died Tuesday afternoon September 8, 2009. Russell was born February 24, 1929 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Herbert and Alice Hartman Meisling. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 37 years before retiring. Russell was preceded in death by his parents. On August 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Earlene I. Johnson Meisling who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Judy Frantisek "Frank" Metelka of Mattawan, David Joette Meisling of Paw Paw, and Bradley Anne Meisling of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Jerry Ann Meisling of Three Rivers; a sister, Mary Max Lettow of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Rose Arbor Hospice Program. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
