BOYLE, Russell James
Of Mattawan Russell was born September 9, 1923, in Dowagiac, Michigan, the son of Walter and Ida Mulholland Boyle. During World War II from 1943-46, he served in the U.S. Army and later was a longtime Mattawan area resident. He retired from the Security Department at The Upjohn Company following 15 years of employment. Russell was a member of the First Congregational Church of Mattawan and enjoyed gardening and walking. On July 21, 1957, he was united in marriage to the former Edith Moyle Boyle who survives. Also surviving are a sister and brother, Evelyn Emmons of Kalamazoo and Stanley Karen Boyle of Hot Springs Village, AR; in-laws, Harry Patricia Moyle, LeRoy Janice Moyle and Ralph Marlene Moyle all of Kalamazoo and several nieces and nephews. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Boyle and 2 brothers-in-law, Donald Emmons and Norman Moyle. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday with Rev. Jonathan Lam officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in Mattawan Maple Grove Cemetery.
