Brey, Rudolph N.
of Portage, Michigan Passed away on October 8, 2012. Rudy was born on October 29, 1934 in Caspian, MI in the Upper Peninsula, the son of the late Albert and Mary Brey. On September 29, 1962 he married Virginia Kroeze at St. Monica Catholic Church and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Cozumel, Mexico. Rudy served in the United States Navy for four years. He retired from Portage Public Schools after many years as an A.V. and Computer Technician. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Rudy is survived by his wife and two daughters, Linda Todd Campbell of Portage and Mary Angel Cano of Cozumel, Mexico; three precious grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan and Riley Campbell who he loved dearly. Rudy is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Raymond Brey of Howell, Stella Corbet of Virginia and Kay Dallavalle of Kalamazoo; three sisters-in-law, Carmen Brey of Iron River, MI, Rika Griffith of Plainwell and Angie Mastenbrook of Kalamazoo; and one brother-in-law, Evans Dallavelle of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walt Brey, Ed Brey and Ted Brey. According to Rudy's wishes cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo, officiated by Rudy and Virginia's dear friend, Fr. James Adams.
