BEISTER, Rudolf Ernest
Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at his home. Rudy was born December 7, 1923 in Galesburg, the son of Edward and Bertha Dorfer Beister and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Tri-State University, where he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering and had served his country in the United States Army during WW II. Rudy had been employed by Consumers Energy for 40 years and was a long time member of Comstock Church of Christ. On March 10, 1945 he married Janice C. Petry, who preceded him in death on August 5, 2007. He was also preceded by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Lance Beister. Rudy is survived by his children, Candace Beister of Kalamazoo and Randolph Beister of Boulder, CO; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara Allard Dykstra; and a close friend who was thought of as a granddaughter, Jennifer Docsa of Sterling Heights. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Minister Scott Burdick officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
