Ruby Mae West

Ruby Mae West, age 62, of Schoolcraft passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2024. She was born October 22, 1962, in Paw Paw, Michigan to Lloyd Arthur, Sr. and Beulah Mae (Price) West.

Ruby spent many years in the manufacturing industry at several companies, including Engineered Plastic Components in Mattawan, Benteler Automotive in Galesburg, and Fab Master in Marcellus. Any free moment she had in her life was spent with her favorite little people, her grandkids—all 13 of them! She enjoyed going to K-Wings hockey games and trips to the zoo. Ruby was affectionally known as Nana to those who knew her. She did everything she could to support anyone in her life, and she was always just a phone call away.

Ruby was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd West, Sr.; grandson, Bradley Michael West; infant sister, Caroline; and brother, Arthur.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa West, Heather West, and Sabrina West; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Beulah West; sisters, Christine and Geraldine; brothers, Kelcy and Lloyd, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 1:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, Michigan 49002, where family will greet friends from 11:30am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Boughton Cemetery.
