Kalamazoo, MI Rose Franks died Sunday evening, May 2, 2010, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born May 19, 1951, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma a daughter of Archie and Alberta Adkins Holley and had lived in Kalamazoo for most of her life. Rose was a member of Allen Chapel AME. On April 26, 1975, Rose was united in marriage with Verdell Franks, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2006. Rose is survived by: four sisters, Wanda Albert Brown, Brenda Iwobi, Jean Bush, and Pat Holley; three brothers-in-law, Charlie Leola Franks of Adrian, Larry Marie Franks of Kalamazoo and Reggie Debra Franks of Plainwell; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Franks Naomi Kenny Shotwell all of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will begin at 10:00 Friday morning and funeral services will begin at 11:00 Friday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Rev. Neal Smith, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
