Went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Rosie was born August 23, 1941, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Gertrude Van Eck Kiewiet. She was a lifelong resident and was a member of the Lake Center Bible Church. Rosie was affiliated with the Center for Developmentally Disabled Adults and she was cared for by Community Living Options. Surviving are her brother, Bill Melinda Kiewiet of Portage; nephews and niece, Ryan, Drew, Brett and Hannah Kiewiet; and by her Community Living Options friends and all of her caregivers throughout the years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday with her brother, Rev. Bill Kiewiet officiating. Interment will follow in Portage South Cemetery. Memorials in Rosie's memory may be directed to Lake Center Bible Church or Hospice Care of SW Michigan.
