Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning June 13, 2009. Rosalie was born June 22, 1938 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Lloyd and Ilah Wellington Heighton. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne R. Nye, Sr. on May 11, 1995; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by 3 children, Wayne Nye, Jr. and Johnny Nye both of Kalamazoo, and Tammy Nye of Richland; a granddaughter, Angel Patton; 3 sisters, Jackie Nolan Texas of Louisville, KY, Bonnie Corryn of Richland, and Linda Sanders of Augusta; 2 brothers, Bernard Ford of North Carolina and Richard Jeanie Heighton of Parchment; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Fort Custer National Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
