SMITH, Ronald R.
Lawrence, MI Passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born December 28, 1922 in Plainwell, MI. the son of the late Walter and Grace Olson Smith and was a lifelong resident the area. Ron was a top automotive mechanic most of his life, owning his own businesses and working for others. He was a multi-talented man. On October 1, 1942, he married Dolores Boulen, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Ronald, Jr. and Mona Smith of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Raymond Kim Des Voignes, Rodney Autumn Des Voignes, Richard Janine Des Voignes and Randel Michelle Smith; 11 great grandchildren, Josh Erica, Carmen, Ben Amanda, Rebecca Mike, Rachael David, Renee´ Brad, Rodney, Kayla, Marisa, Braden and Trevor; 14 great great grandchildren; a cousin, Edgar Hazel Guigue; many wonderful friends and neighbors. Ron was a loving husband, a great dad and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter A. Smith. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Brian Vince officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral on Saturday, beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time. A private family interment will follow at a later date. Memorials may be given to Grace Baptist Church, P.O. Box 712, Lawrence, MI, 49064. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bronson and Rose Arbor Hospice for their kind and loving care that Dad received.
