ROEDER, Mr. Ronald E.
Kalamazoo, MI Went home to be with the Lord Saturday evening February 16, 2008. Ronald was born May 31, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas a son of John W. and Irene M. Dunham Roeder. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army 5th Infantry Division. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Mead Products for 41 years, retiring in 1982. For the past nine years, he worked for Sam's Club. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church in Salt Springs, FL. He was also a member of the Baptist Men's Prayer Breakfast; Kalamazoo County 4H Leadership Program; and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janice Meyer on August 5, 2005; and a sister, Winifred Fulzenloger. On August 12, 1978, he was united in marriage to Eleanor J. Boyer Roeder who survives. Also surviving, 5 children, Elaine Dana Tremblay of Kalamazoo, Ronald Carol Roeder of Monument, CO, Rodney Iletha Poolman of Marcellus, MI, Robin Glomski of Kalamazoo, Bob Meyer of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy Betty Roeder of Portage; a sister, Dorothy Beetch of Batesville, AR; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2031 East Cork St. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Program or the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
