MOERMAN, Ronald J.
Of Plainwell, Michigan Passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his residence with his family by his side. Ron was born August 7, 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Marinus "Bub" and Marie Scale Moerman and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo/Plainwell area. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a salesman for business forms, most recently at West Michigan Business Forms. Ron was a member of the Alamo Community Congregational Church, the Camaro Club and WMAHA West Michigan Arabian Horse Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. On October 8, 1960, he was married to Joyce VanSweden, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters and 1 son, Michelle Steve Meert of Gobles, Laura Steve Garza of Zeeland and John Celeste Moerman of Gobles; 6 grandchildren, Haven and Zach Moerman, Stephanie and Samantha Meert, Abigail and Taylor Garza; a brother Kenneth Donna Moerman of Gun Lake and a sister Linda Markee of Kalamazoo; several nieces, nephew and cousins. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock on Wednesday at the Alamo Community Congregational Church, 7925 N. 6th St. with the Rev. Bill Walker officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorial contributions in Ron's memory may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan County or to the Cheff Center for the Handicapped.
