Portage, MI Died Sunday morning April 18, 2010. Ronald was born June 30, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Clare and Elsie Pfau Harrison. Years ago, he served honorably with the U.S. Army. Ronald had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1956 and was employed with the James River Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a member of the Portage V.F.W. Post #5855; and the American Legion. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan "Joann" Harrison on December 26, 2009; a son Gary M. Harrison; and a sister, Geraldine Killingsworth. He is survived by 2 children, Ronda Herbert of Kalamazoo and Daniel Tracy Harrison of Vicksburg; 3 grandchildren, Travis McGhee, and Kaitlyn and Paige Harrison; 2 sisters, Janet John McIlroy of Wawaka, IN and Charlene John Norris of Boyne City, MI; a brother, Paul Esther Harrison of Schoolcraft; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday. Interment will be in Harrison Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
